As a result, builders and homeowners are turning
to masonry.
Masonry is long-lasting and durable, resistant to the ravages of fire and
wind and forever free of rot, rust, and termites. And it's so
versatile, it's able to take on virtually any shape, color and
texture.
One of the products we use in producing a cinder block
is fly ash. Fly ash is a by-product of burning coal and has some of
the same chemistry as cement. Fly ash has been around for several years. In
fact, the Egyptians used fly ash in the pyramids.
Not only will your homes and businesses last forever
with masonry, but so will retaining walls, pavers, landscaping and other
masonry projects. Romans made roads with tightly fitting joint
cobble stones, which remain today and they are over 2000 years old!
This road is similar to what a road of pavers would be today.
